Call for Applications – ACHIEVE-IT 2 Summer Schools 2025

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), within the framework of the European-funded ACHIEVE-IT project (Academic Collaboration through Higher International Education for a Viable and Equitable Africa with Italy) invites applications for participation in two advanced Summer Schools, to be held at UCSC’s Piacenza Campus in July 2025:
1.“Data Integration Strategies for Systems Biology: A Multi-Omics Approach”14–19 July 2025
An intensive program focusing on Systems Biology, offering interdisciplinary training in genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, computational modeling, and bioinformatics tools for PhD students and young researchers. The Summer School is organized under the patronage of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) and the Italian Association for Animal Production (ASPA).
2.“Quality and Safety Aspects: The Italian Foods Model Class Lectures” 7–11 July 2025
A comprehensive program exploring Italy's approach to food quality, safety, and certification systems, combined with practical training in pilot plants for dairy, wine, and bakery production.
Target Audience:
The call is open to researchers and academic staff from:
-Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Kenya)
-University of Sousse (Tunisia)
Mobility Grant Benefits:
Selected participants will receive full financial support covering travel expenses, accommodation, subsistence, visa costs, and health insurance. The grant offers the opportunity to engage in international academic exchange, professional development, and potential long-term collaborations.
