International Cooperation
What do we mean when we talk about cooperation for development? |
|
According to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), cooperation means (2018): "Promoting the well-being of all, achieving the transition to low-carbon economies, building safe, durable and resilient infrastructure, promoting global public goods, but also addressing common challenges such as conflict, lack of security, pollution or pandemics. International cooperation represents the attempt of states and societies with more resources to build relationships based on mutual exchange and solidarity in collaboration with the most vulnerable part of the world. These values are expressed through the support and funding of development projects that aim to improve the living conditions of populations by bringing them about positive change". |
